Building Skills, Strengthening Impact: Project Management Training for Human Services

Project Management Fundamentals Training has provided local human services sector professionals actionable tools and practical skills to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients and community.

Delivered by leadership and people skills expert and experienced local facilitator Anton Guinea from The Guinea Group, this two-day training strengthened effective project management skills including planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, leadership, and impact measurement, and equipped participants with a toolkit of templates and resources to support ongoing success.

The interactive, hands-on learning approach saw participants grow cross-sector connection, test ideas, share suggestions, and encourage each other to push the boundaries of their thinking and comfort zones.

Learning was immediately put to practice during training. Participants worked on real projects from their own organisations. They explored opportunities for improvement and engage in collaborative conversations with each other. This helped refine project approaches and identify the critical path needed to deliver successful outcomes.

One participant said, “I learnt a lot about project management skills, had fun, and received validation and support from peers about my project idea.”

Participants shared feedback on the practical impact of the training:

“I now have skills and practical tools and resources to improve my project management,” and “Lots of resources to assist me to be a better project manager.”
