Data & Evaluation Tools
The Gladstone Region Wellbeing Data Hub brings together community voice, research, sector and local insights. It provides our community with centralised access to data to identify and quantify changes and impacts on our community and to monitor and evaluate progress towards a range of community identified wellbeing goals.
The Gladstone Region Wellbeing UMEL Strategy encompasses four key components of Understanding, Measurement, Evaluation and Learning (UMEL), to measure population-level change. UMEL is seen as crucial components of Stronger Places, Stronger People (SPSP) initiatives, with each SPSP community developing a UMEL Strategy to measure population-level change.
The Gladstone Region Wellbeing UMEL Measurement Framework includes measurement to assess change across four key elements related to the supports system that we provide to enable our families and children to thrive.
The Data Toolkit is designed for place-based initiatives partnering with Human Service organisations to help grow organisation capacity, knowledge and skills in using data for improved service delivery and client outcomes. The Data Toolkit User Guide provides step by step processes and templates to support development of bespoke data collection systems to translate data findings into impactful change action.

A publication providing The Early Years Project Updates highlighting the progress of the community-designed activities within the Gladstone Region Wellbeing Action Plan, all tailored to local needs and aligned with broader research and strategies. Presented at the 'Together in Action' The Early Years event - February 2024.
The Happy Families campaign provides gentle nudges in community to prompt and support parents and families to access resources and early supports that will help them grow capacity to provide safe, loving, nurturing environments for our local children, recognising that life and parenting can be tricky!

The Gladstone Region Wellbeing Baseline Data Report 2021 provides a snapshot of quantitative data identified as significant for the Gladstone Region community. Data included reflects where statistical comparison between the Gladstone LGA and Queensland has identified a difference. It provides a starting point for our community to measure progress over time to improved community wellbeing.
The Gladstone Region Wellbeing Data Report 2023 provides an updated snapshot of quantitative data identified as significant for the Gladstone Region community. Data included reflects where statistical comparison between the Gladstone LGA and Queensland has identified a difference. It provides a comparison to the 2021 Gladstone Region Wellbeing Baseline Data Report for our community to measure progress to improved community wellbeing.
The purpose is to report findings from the 2024 Gladstone Region Wellbeing Evaluation Workshop. The findings are reported against indicators identified in the Gladstone Region Wellbeing Measurement Framework. Released November 2024.

A series of Community Profiles to assist Gladstone Regional Council (GRC) to strategically plan for its communities including understanding the needs of diverse community groups and determining potential priorities relating to policy and planning for open space, infrastructure, programs and services. The profiles outline data for the Gladstone Region local government area as well as for individual suburbs within the region.
These sessions were recorded over 2022 and 2023, from Education Queensland. The GROW 'Little Ones' series cover key topics of Autism Spectrum, Speech and Language and Inclusive Education.
The aim of the survey was to gain a better understanding of the changing culture and current community profile of the Agnes Water region, with a focus on qualitative input to help paint a picture of Agnes life that locals know and see every day.

The first 1000 days of a child' life, from conception to two years of age, is an important foundational period which shapes their development and wellbeing. Children thrive when they have supportive environments in these early years.
The 'First 2000 Days'Â reflects the period from pre-conception through to five years. Experiences across the period, have consequences for health and wellbeing across the lifespan, for multiple generations.
Case Studies
This case study highlights the Gladstone Region Childhood Builders Training Series, a collaborative initiative aimed at equipping frontline practitioners with shared knowledge, tools, and practices to support children's brain development, wellbeing, and resilience through meaningful interactions and integrated community care. It emphasises the importance of a collaborative approach across sectors to foster environments where all children can thrive.
The Salvation Army and GRT partnered to create a Data Dashboard that visualises local service and population data in the Gladstone Region. This tool enhances understanding of community needs, informs service planning, and boosts team confidence in data use, enabling responsive and evidence-based decision-making.
