being taken to create improved wellbeing for our children
and families in the Gladstone Region.

Join us to learn more about the collaborative effort of our community and the pathways being built to improve community wellbeing.

Hear from a partner community, demonstrating outcomes through community-led, place-based work, and about how the work our community is doing now, will lead to improved outcomes for local families and children in the future.

Community leading change to grow opportunity, equity
and quality of life for everyone in the Gladstone Region.

Participants will have an opportunity to share their voice to shape the next stages of the valuable work for the Gladstone Region.
Event Outline

Event participants can expect to be surprised by the breadth and diversity of stakeholders and stakeholder collaborations.
​
Contributors will present updates on the collaborative work they are leading to create positive futures for our children by:

growing our local service sector capacity to enhance quality and timeliness of supports for our families and children
​​

mitigating regional skill shortages impacting our local community supports
​​

ensuring lived-experience and the stories of local people inform the effective design of programs and supports
​​

exploring opportunities to increase timely access to child assessments and early supports to put our local children on track to thrive at school
​​
-
increasing our understanding of resourcing allocations in our community and support shared decision making across government, community and other stakeholders
​​

growing data collection across our community to support evidence informed decision making
​​
With the recent announcement of extended Australian Government funding for this work in the Gladstone Region, the ‘Together in Action’ event is a celebration of what has already been achieved and acknowledges the whole-of-community investment for the shared aspiration of thriving futures for our children.

Special Guest Speaker
Dr Michelle Lucas
Dr Michelle Lucas will visit Gladstone to share the experience of
‘Logan Together’, a more advanced, place-based initiative that is achieving great outcomes for local children through the collective efforts of community and government embracing place-based, community-led practice. This demonstration of results will enable delegates to visualise where the Gladstone Region is on the collective impact journey and the possibilities for change as a result of the work in progress now.
